Vote consciously
One of the most effective things you can do to reach your future goals…
…is one of the smallest efforts you can imagine:
🗳️ Vote.
But you can do even more still with a very small effort:
Do it consciously.
This means:
Reflect what you need to live an enjoyable life in a functioning society in the future (or what your business needs to be in a functioning society & market in the future).
Then do your research which political parties do not only blame others for existing problems, but actually have good ideas and plans to solve pressing problems. Loud blames and statements, but no good plan that is both feasible and affordable, is a sign that a party could not have a good idea or is unfit to solve the issue - or even worse, their interests may be opposing yours and put you in a worse situation.
Once you have done this, you are ready and now you can:
🗳️🧠 Vote consciously.
When you are done with the research yourself, talk to the people around you. Nudge them to reflect about their future needs, too.
Going this "extra mile" is the most effective thing I can do for my goals right now and thus my most important "side hustle" at the moment.
I gathered some inspiration here for you to start the reflection:
Maybe your personal dream of a future also looks a little bit like mine:
- An enjoyable life on a livable planet with a functioning infrastructure and society that doesn't harm anyone
- A supportive environment that works together and gives everyone equal rights and chances
- Being free to decide what you want to do and how to express yourself
Maybe you also need for your business to thrive:
- Many normal people (working in average jobs) who can afford your or your customers products
- A well-working society and reliable supply chains
- Stability to make plans and investments due to stable democracies in a strong and peaceful union
- Freedom to hire any good person and try out new business ideas that work towards your purpose
- Fair and free communication channels where everyone has the same chance to gain attention
In the comments, I add some links to the largest global risks, which we are currently facing and which are thus most likely also putting your personal goals at stake.
⏰Now is a good time that you also become active to enable that future.
Especially in Germany, this means for the next 2 weeks:
- Reflect what the future looks like that you would like to live in.
- Inform yourself which political parties are working best to enable this future, because they have a feasible and affordable plan.
- Vote consciously on 23.02 or via postal vote before.
- Talk to your friends and family so they do the same.
More thoughts on the risks & effectiveness, as well as some ideas of what else you could do to further engage yourselves, are in my blogpost (link in the comments).
🌍Do your future selves and future businesses a favor.
🗳️🧠Please vote consciously. Thank you.
This is neither why I called my business "effective impact consulting" nor a very good example of my "effective impact" framework. But it's the same type of quantitative evaluation thinking that got me to start most initiatives in the last couple of years and that I use to evaluate future steps.
